Who needs an excuse for a Latymer gathering?

We didn’t really, but the return to Ol’ Blighty of Latymer ‘R’ classmate Pete Smith from ‘Down Under’ (where he and his wife Louise have been living for decades) was just the welcome catalyst needed. On holiday in Europe, Pete was briefly in London (like a boomerang, eventually, he comes back!).

A motley crew of 1969 Joiners, spouses and long-time connected friends met at the now-traditional rendezvous of The Betjeman Arms in St Pancras for one of our famed gatherings – and to have a few glasses of Aussie wine and beer in celebration.

It was a great turnout – some travelling from as far as Glasgow and Glastonbury for fun and reminiscences of great Latymer times gone by and much humorous talk of ‘was and when.’ As we departed, the gang’s heartfelt refrains of ‘Sing it Latymer’ echoed around the majestic St Pancras station setting.
